Before you send
The checklist the planner and the app use, in plain words. FARYON reviews every file before printing.
Colour and pictures that reach the edge go 3 mm past the cut line, so no white line shows after cutting.
Keep text, logos and numbers at least 5 mm inside the cut line.
Full colour artwork in CMYK, not RGB. One-ink artwork in black or one named colour.
Photos and scans at 300 dpi at the size they print. Web images look blurred on paper.
Convert text to outlines or embed the fonts, so the type cannot change.
A PDF with one page per printed side (PDF/X-1a if your program offers it).
The panel that folds inside is 2 mm narrower than the others, so it closes flat.
Draw the die-cut or sticker outline as a thin line on a separate layer, not printed.
A separate black-and-white page that marks only the shapes to varnish.
Leave a white box near the top for the number printed on every set.
Extend backgrounds 3 mm past the cut line (bleed) and keep text 5 mm inside it (safe zone): cutting moves by a millimetre or two.
Use pictures at 300 dpi at their final size, set colours in CMYK, convert text to outlines or embed the fonts, and export a print PDF.
A brochure folded in three needs the panel that folds inside to be about 2 mm narrower than the other two, or it will not close flat.
